The Villa is a traditional Tuscan country mansion, built in 1870 and recently renovated and converted into holiday flats. The location is beautiful, a sunny spot with commanding panoramic views of the vineyards and olive groves of Chianti and the Arno valley. The villa was originally the building from which the lord of the adjacent farm collected his 'dues' in the form of olives, grapes, hay, eggs and other agricultural produce. A modern translation of its name would sound like "villa of the delivery", in fact long ago farmers from the furthest farms used it to gather all the harvest before the delivery to the near-by main farm). This is the heartland of Chianti - Italy's most famous wine - and is ideal for winelovers and gourmets. The area is scattered with wineries and excellent restaurants dedicated to local produce and is a hive of activity during the grape and olive harvests (October and November) which are marked by festivals and feasts.
