Our guests can find the halls of the restaurant at the end of a suggestive path surrounded by lofty palms. The space composed by the two suggestive tufa halls containing two majestic fire places perfectly alike, once was occupied by peasants working here during the olive season. Nowadays it has been thoroughly reconstructed, it includes the two above-mentioned halls and a room where our guests can enjoy the delicious breakfast and taste the typical specialities belonging to our cooking.
The simple but careful style, actually our philosophy of life, is reflected in our cooking. Our dishes are based on the Apulian and Lucan tradition. They are rooted in this place situated between Apulia and the Basilicata ( the province of Matera is only far only 4 km away).
On the special occasions, as a result of the particular care of our chef, each dish even if belonging to the local tradition, reflects the Mediterranean cuisine manner.
As a matter of fact we suggest a tasty combination of flat-cakes, home-made pasta (orecchiette, cavatelli, firzuli etc.) accompanied by our organic extra-virgin olive oil, our organic fruits and vegetables and the various typical cheeses.
After meals we usually offer a homemade liquor, chosen from the assortment reserved for our guests.
In the warmer nights we propose to our guests a delicious supper by candle-light outside the restaurant under the terrace bower or in the garden. |
