Our name ‘ means literally the ‘hillock of the free ones’. The legend goes that the ancient Romans living in this area used to grant freedom to their most deserving slaves. Likewise, Il Polivere will offer its guests a worries-free, relaxing, unforgettable break from it all.

The farm has recently been thoroughly restored to its authentic rural country style. The stone structure of its main 3-storey building has been brought back to its original beauty and most of its ancient agricultural activities reinstated.

The estate spreads across 50 acres of biologically cultivated land: we grow olive trees (D.O.P. olive oil), sunflowers, corn and grapevine (sangiovese and merlot). Our guests will be enchanted by the nearby wood where they’ll be able to take long, relaxing walks along the peaceful waters of the river ‘Chiani’ and the stream ‘Doro’. And to make our guests’ stay simply perfect, a large, natural spring water swimming pool and a meticulously cared for garden will offer moments of pure bliss.

What we offer With a perfect combination between comfort and tradition, our farmhouse is the ideal choice for those seeking relax, tranquillity and a break at close contact with nature. ‘Il Polivere’ offers 5 large double bedrooms all the private bathroom and TV. Two additional bedrooms with shared bathroom are situated on the top floor and are simply ideal for families.

Our rooms With comnunal parts include dining room, a lounge with a fireplace, a reading room with internet access and further living space on the second floor.

And if you’re a party of 10-12 people, you may wish to book the entire farmhouse for yourselves. This includes full use of our spring water swimming pool , maid, gardener.
